This wintry townscape oil painting on linen canvas was made in
February, 2003 on location in Chester, Connecticut by Leif Nilsson.
Across the street from his Spring Street Studio and Gallery Leif
often paints the neighborhood in all sorts of weather. After a
snow fall the quaint village is transformed into a winter wonderland
with the unifying cloak of varying white shades and tints. The
overcast sky reflected in the piles of fresh snow offer a wide
range of gray colors to be studied. This oil painting on linen
canvas mounted on board measures eleven inches high by fourteen
inches wide unframed and nineteen inches high by sixteen inches
wide mounted in the Florentine Style hand made and leafed finished
corner frame shown here.
