This large oil painting of the blizzard of 2003 in Chester Center,
Connecticut was actually painted over the course of several snow
storms in the winter of 2002 - 2003 by Connecticut Impressionist
artist Leif Nilsson. The swirling snow flakes are illuminated
by the lampposts which give the early evening an inviting glow.
Painted from the window of his studio during that magic hour of
dusk the blue and gold color scheme is typical of Nilsson's winter
nocturnes. This oil painting on linen canvas mounted on board
measures twenty four inches high by thirty six inches wide unframed
and twenty nine inches high by forty one inches wide mounted in
the Florentine Style hand made and leafed finished corner frame
shown here. CAT# 2544 Chester Center - the Blizzard of '03 (center detail view) oil paint on linen canvas 24 x 36 inches unframed Leif Nilsson winter 2003 © |
