This original oil painting on board was painted outdoors
in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains outside of Boulder Colorado
during a painting excursion to that state by Connecticut Impressionist
Artist Leif Nilsson in the autumn of 2002. The composition was
made by careful application of paint with a palette knife. This
technique the artist learned when studying with the renown artist
and instructor Henry Hensche in Province town, Massachusetts at
the tip of Cape Cod in the summer of 1986. The painting measures
nine by twelve inches unframed and is fourteen by seventeen inches
mounted in the Florentine Style hand made and leafed finished
corner frame shown here. CAT# 2554 Mountainside - Boulder, Colorado (framed view) oil 9 x 12 Leif Nilsson autumn 2002 © |
